Lanes End House was originally constructed to a high specification by DGS Construction Ltd for a developer in 2002.

The subsequent owner wanted a balcony built to the rear of the house and in 2005 asked DGS to carry out the work.

The original architects drawings required a significant number of steel fixings which whilst effective would have looked obtrusive. DGS therefore worked with engineers, Broughton Beatty, to design a solution which met all structural requirements and Building Regulations without the need for visible fixings.

The balcony was built almost entirely from iroko hardwood on brick piers and blends beautifully with the original house.
